Welcome to Marshall County. Your local Extension office is a tremendous resource for finding the information that you need. Love gardening? Crops and Livestock is the perfect place to visit if you're needing information about... you guessed it, crops and livestock! It's also a great place to go if you're interested in a healthier lifestyle.

Available Resources          
Soil Testing: We offer soil testing for crop and horticulture purposes through the K-State Soil Testing Lab and have a soil probe which people can borrow to take soil tests.  Soil samples are brought in the Marshall County Extension Office, bagged, and then delivered/sent to the Lab.  Cost is $6.20 for the Routine Test(pH, Lime, P, and K), $10.50 for test #2(Routine+Nitrogen+Organic Matter), and other tests are available.

Marshall County Soil Fertility School

The Soil Fertility School will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 in Marysville, KS at the Marysville American Legion (310 N. 19th). Registration and gathering will begin at 9:45 A.M., and the program will begin at 10:00 A.M. and conclude around 3:00 P.M.

The Marshall County Soil Fertility School is a basic soils 101 school that will provide training in basic soil fertility providing information on soils and soil nutrients. Topics will include: soil basics, soil pH, soil nutrients (N, P, K and micronutrients), soil sampling and testing, and manure nutrient management.

K-State Research and Extension Specialists, Dave Mengel, Soil Fertility, Dorivar Ruiz Diaz, Nutrient Management, and Stu Duncan, NE Extension Crops and Soil Agronomist, will be the presenters.

During the program we will have a lunch sponsored by the Tuttle Creek WRAPS and local agricultural businesses.

We encourage producers, consultants, dealers, landowners, and Extension and other agency personnel.

We have applied for Commerical Pesticide Applicator and Certified Crop Advisor Continuing Education Credits for this meeting.
